Spiritual Growth
We inspire, explore and grow together.
Our Spiritual programs enble us to delve into self-exploration, faith, and values—nurturing the soul and walking the spiritual path together in a supportive community. This practice, integral to human experience across faith traditions, fosters a safe and inclusive environment where all aspects of spiritual life can be explored, questioned and challenged.
Worship:
Every Sunday at 10:30 we gather to journey collectively on our spiritual path through scripture, song, prayer and themed reflection. Laughter, conversation and fellowship follow the service.
Bible Study/Coffee Klatch:
Thursday mornings from 9:30-10:30, over coffee, we discuss and explore scripture and theological reflections through a variety of media such as magazine articles, Bible studies and videos.
Pageturners Book Club
Love a good book and a great conversation? Pageturners is a welcoming book club that meets Thursdays at 10:30 AM—and now also Tuesday evenings—for thoughtful discussions on a wide range of titles chosen by the group. Past reads include Islamic Jesus, East of Eden, Braiding Sweetgrass, and Window Shopping for God. Join us for one book or stay for many—come when it works for you.
Community Forums
Silver Spire and community partners annually present forums exploring current and relevant topics. They are for the general public and provide the opportunity to learn more about the significant issues facing our communities. Past subjects have included Human Trafficking, Harm Reduction, and Guaranteed Livable Income.
Youth Group
Our young people from grades 7-12 meet weekly on Friday evenings to enjoy friendship, music, games, crafts, movies and spiritual development. Snacks are always a big part of the evening!
Queer Kid Bible Camp
QKBC meets every four to six weeks for activities. The highlight of the year is a week long summer camp, usually in July. Kids from grade 7-12 are welcome and may identify in a myriad of ways including as allies. All are accepted, affirmed and uplifted.
Children, youth and young adults
Silver Spire services and activities are intergenerational in nature. Kids are welcome to join in the service, teens help out at fundraisers, and young adults are often counsellors at camp. We believe in providing opportunities for participation, growth, and leadership for all ages.
